Snakewood Slab from Louisiana
This slab of mennegoxylon or "snakewood" was found in the Eocene age Yegua Formation. It was collected in Vernon Parish, Louisiana. This very rare wood has wonderful cell structure and I send a copy of the paper describing the wood with each slab. This specimen is 16.5cm x 11cm across the polished face and .5cm thick.
