The slab is 30.5cm x 25.5cm across the polished face and 2cm thick. This slab has some common opal around the edges with some breakouts on one side. Large Metasequoia Slab from Yakima Washington
This is a very unique specimen of metasequoia. It was found on the military installation outside of Yakima, Washington. This specimen was dug in the late 1950's or early 1960's. From this location I have only seen metasequoia and ginkgo. It is from the Wanapum Basalt Formation and Miocene in age. This slab measures 38cm x 32cm across the polished face and is 2 cm thick.
